    • 325 x 191 mm. 1 volume (xxii + 168 folios of which 85 are blank); Binding: full bound in green morocco, ruled in gilt. Stamped 'S' in gilt on the front cover, surmounted by a coronet; also stamped 'A.D.' towards the lower edge of the front cover; oval leather Bibliotheca Spenceriana book label inside front cover.

Scope and Content

Catalogue of books printed between 1457 and 1472 in the Bibliotheca Spenceriana. Works are arranged in chronological order of printer, commencing with Fust and Schöffer. For each work the catalogue records the author, an abbreviated title where required, size, and date and place of printing. Vellum copies are noted ('in membranis'). A single Caxton is recorded: Recuyell of the historyes of Troye (1471, recte ?1473). There is an alphabetical index of printers at the front of the volume.

Enclosed inside the front cover is a single bifolium headed 'Libri ejiciendi' (books to be removed or discarded), recording one work: Boniface VIII, [Liber] sextus Decretalium (1465).
