1027 fixed and loose photographs of English Romanesque sculpture, English medieval sculpture and English medieval seals - mainly figurative work. Also included are a few images of French and German medieval sculpture. Apart from the seals, the photographs are organised into categories corresponding to their function in the church fabric, for example portals, column capitals, and tomb effigies. All photographs are further categorised by geographical location. Captions are given to most photographs, indicating the geographical location of each item. The photographs were taken by F.H. Crossley, J.P. Gibson, E.S. Prior and others.
