Scope and Content

These records are the Managers Minutes for three Council Schools in Kidlington. Kidlington County Infants School, Kidlington County Junior School, West Kidlington County Primary School and North Kidlington County Primary School..

Kidlington County Infants School opened in 1938 and was situated on Blenheim Road. The school closed in 1981. Please see CC4/126A for other records of this school.

Kidlington County Junior School was previously known as Kidlington Church of England School (see S151/1 for other records) but in 1940 the Diocese ceased to fund the school and it was taken over by the Council. In 1952 the School moved to a new site on the Bicester Road and in 1964 was renamed the Edward Feild School (see S151/3).

West Kidlington Council School was opened in 1956 and extended in 1958.

North Kidlington County Primary School opened in 1961.
