Administrative / Biographical History

Calfaria was a Welsh Baptist church situated in Ravenhill, Swansea, Glamorgan. The cause began in 1846, with members of Bethesda Baptist Church meeting in houses in Gendros. The church was formed in 1860 and the chapel, built on Carmarthen Road, was completed in 1861. It was rebuilt and enlarged in 1892. By the 1990s this chapel had been demolished, but the vestry was still in use for services. It closed c. 2001 and the building is currently (2007) in use as the Little Cherubs Day Nursery.
