Administrative / Biographical History
Buildings and Estates is part of the Campus Infrastructure Division (CID) of the University's Central Administration Planning Unit (CAPU).
In 1986 the Works Department/ Building Services Department and the Planning and Building Office integrated to become the Building Services and Planning Office. In 1987 the Building Services and Planning Office was reorganised and renamed the Buildings and Estates Service/ Office. The Buildings and Estates Office is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the building fabric and the services infrastructure of the University. It is accountable to the University Court in all its operations.

The records of Buildings and Estates filing system on arrival at the Glasgow University Archives and Business Records Centre have been arranged into a basic filing system.
