Scope and Content

Pedigrees and genealogical notes mostly relating to Akerman's family. Pedigrees include Akerman (pp. 5, 7), Yonge (fol. 19) and miscellaneous, e.g. Shakespeare, Goethe and Cowper. At fols. 20-32 'Notices of the Family of Akerman', consisting of extracts from PCC wills, etc., and transcripts of letters from Joseph Burtt, 22 March 1849, Dr Joseph Hunter, 1844, and Sir Thomas Phillipps, 1851 (fols. 27-9v), relating to Akerman's family. Reprint from the Gent. Mag., Nov. 1865, of Akerman's letter, 10 Oct. 1865, relating to the source of the Thames, with further details of the lawsuit v. Guy Clinton (cf. AKE/02).
