Correspondence files of Professor William Blair-Bell, relating to his position as a Director of the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the British Empire, in particular with the Editor, Comyns Berkeley, including discussion of the administration and financial position of the journal, papers submitted for inclusion in the journal, and notes of meetings of directors, together with draft copies of papers relating to the University of Liverpool and Liverpool Royal Infirmary and other articles, and correspondence relating to the appointment of Directors and Chair of the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the British Empire Publishing Company Limited, including with Sir Ewen Maclean, Daniel Dougal, R W Johnstone, Henry Russell Andrews, C G Lowry, Comyns Berkeley, and in particular with Thomas Watts Eden relating to the administration of the Journal.

This subfonds was created in October 2012 during recataloguing of the papers in order to facilitate access to the collection. Original references are captured at file level, and the papers arranged chronologically.
