(There is also a single file on ICOGRADA: the International Council of Graphic Design Associations). The next largest group (numbered 75) relates to the Royal Society of Arts.
The range of bodies with extant files can be characterized as follows: educational establishments such as the Central Institute of Art & Design, and the Royal College of Art; design promotional bodies (National Register of Industrial Art Designers, Design and Industries Association, Midland Industrial Design Group, Institute of Practising Designers, Association of Societies of Art and Design); arts bodies (Fine Art Commission, Royal Society of Arts, Institute of Contemporary Arts, Crafts Advisory Committee); cultural (British Council, British Broadcasting Corporation, Conseil Superieur de la Creation Esthetique Industrielle); consumer-needs related (British Standards Institution, British Electrical Approvals Board, Disabled Living Foundation); industry related (Board of Trade, Confederation of British Industry, Institute of Directors, British Iron & Steel Federation, British Productivity Council, British National Export Council, National Economic Development Office, National Marketing Council, European Productivity Association, Royal Agricultural Society); leisure-related (London Federation of Boys' Clubs, British Tourist Authority, British Travel and Holidays Association); and charitable bodies such as the H.W. Sanderson Art in Industry Fund.
