'Gems in Unfathom'd Caves': unpublished book by Betty & Anthony Reid

This series relates to the unpublished book 'Gems in Unfathom'd Caves: Artwork of the Johnstone Twins' written by Betty and Anthony Reid. This unpublished book provides a brief outline of the Reids' own relationship with the Johnstone twins and their artwork, and a detailed appraisal of the artwork. The work includes a checklist of books illustrated by the Johnstone twins listed in chronological order; an alphabetical list of the books, cross-referenced to the more detailed, chronological checklist; a checklist of greetings cards designed by the Johnstone twins; and a list of equestrian books illustrated by the Johnstone twins. All of these checklists only feature books and cards held by the Reids in the Johnstone Memorial Collection. Consequently, although they are very detailed and cover the vast majority of the Johnstones twins' work, they are not thoroughly exhaustive lists of all material produced by the Johnstones. Alongside the complete typescript of the book, broken down into three parts, are additional copies of several of the chapters and an incomplete copy of the transcript on CD.
