STATUTORY DECLARATION: Made by Hugh Hughes of Tynygoeden, Newborough, retired master mariner, concerning the old road leading from Penlon, Newborough to Aber Menai Point. This was the road leading to the ferry which at one time operated between Aber Menai Point and the Caernarfon shore. Hugh Hughes who was born in 1852, couldn't remember the ferry operating but he could remember that there used to be two houses on the road and that the owner of one of them used to take charge of the horses and traps of the farmers using the ferry.
