Scope and Content

The South Oxford Council School was formed as a result of the reorganisation of city schools in 1910 and was built on the site of the old St Aldates Day Technical School. At first there were separate Infants and Junior Schools until they were merged into one Primary School in 1968. There was a separate school on the site for older boys and girls that later became South Oxford Secondary School (please see S195/4 for records of this school).

These records were deposited as Acc 1986 in 1981 and as part of Acc 4119 in August 1996. Recatalogued by Alison Smith in September 2013 with additions in December 2016.
