Administrative / Biographical History
Edward Bevan was born in Garreg near Welshpool and came to Swansea in 1873 to work as an assistant to John Thomson Williams, chemist on Nelson Street (died 1896). Edward Bevan died in 1944 aged 93. He left a photographic record of the great Cape Horn days, most of which were destroyed during the 1941 Blitz. The business later moved to 2 Union Street, Swansea.
