The series is a collection of Dr Pontiero's papers relating specifically to the books written by José Saramago. Included are many newspaper, journal and magazine articles containing reviews and photographs of the author and his works. Included also are handwritten notes by Dr Pontiero reviewing various aspects of the books such as lay out, meaning and interpretations as well as various faxes to publishing companies and also between Dr Pontiero and José Saramago.
The majority of the newspaper articles and correspondence are in Portuguese with a minority being written in English.
