Scope and Content

Minor Control Point albums from the Ordnance Survey 1948 survey of Great Britain, covering much of West Glamorgan and adjacent areas such as Maesteg, [c. 1948]; indexes to the control points in the Neath area, 1961-1967.

Administrative / Biographical History

In 1948 the Ordnance Survey carried out a survey of Great Britain. The surveyors produced photograph albums used to identify minor control points on the ground. These consist of photographs of reference points used as a basis for establishing the National Grid and include incidental topographical details.
