Administrative / Biographical History

Malcolm Ogilvie & Co. Ltd was active in the textile industry from at least 1851. Originally based in Constable Works, Dura Street, in 1970 the company moved to the old Dundee Linen Works in Constitution Street, renaming the factory to the 'Constable Works'. Malcolm Ogilvie & Co. Ltd was one of the last firms to be engaged in jute spinning in Dundee. The firm is now engaged in the casting of bronze alloys and in manufacturing insulating glass panels, optical lenses and steel catering equipment.
