Scope and Content

DIARY: Margaret Ann Bulkeley.

Synopsis: The diary starts on 4 October 1886, in Holyhead. On 8 October, she began a trip to Ireland with her father (John Parry Bulkeley) leaving Holyhead, overnight in Dublin, then Killarney 10/10, returning to Dublin on 11/10, and back to Holyhead on 13/10. She stayed in Holyhead until 10/11 when they went to Beaumaris. Back to Holyhead on 12/11, after a short trip to Llandudno. Trip to Amlwch on 29/11 until 12/12. Back to Holyhead for Christmas and there until 21/1, then to Amlwch by train, and on to Llangefni on 27/1, for the day, where they saw aunt and uncle at Lledwigan. From 28/1, to 1/3, in Amlwch, then to Lledwigan on 1/3, and back to Holyhead on 3/3. Day trip to Valley on 1/4. Trip to Buckley on 22/4 and 23/4,to Wrexham for the day, still in Buckley until 14/5. Train to Widnes to stay with Aunt Kate, staying with her until 28/5. Went to Holyhead with Aunt Kate on 28/5. Aunt Kate returned home on 31/5. Day trip to Llanberis 11/7. The diary finishes on 23rd July 1887, and Margaret Ann Bulkeley is still in Holyhead
