Administrative / Biographical History

The archbishop’s liberty of Ripon comprised the parish of Ripon and its numerous chapelries, Aldfield with Studley, Bishop Monkton, Bishop Thornton, Bishopton, Bondgate, Hewick, Ingerthorpe with Wallerthwaite and Markington, Littlethorpe with Whitecliffe, Pateley Bridge, Sawley, Sharow, Skelton, Sleningford with North Stainley, Winksley with Grantley.
