Custodial History
The images were taken by John Fraser, the son of Douglas Fraser. For a time the collection was split when some of the Arbroath lantern slides were given to the Spink family in Arbroath. The remainder were with Kevin Fraser until the death of him and his wife after which Simon Fraser took custody of them. Robert Wells and Simon Fraser approached the Spink family who were happy for the collection to be united again. The Frasers felt the University would be the best place to take the material, given they already had the Fraser business archive (MS 42).
