Family history provided by Henrietta Cockrell: John Sharp, elder brother of Frederick B Sharp of Hill of Tarvit was Henrietta's great-grandfather. Simon is a great great grandson of James F White, through JFW's 4th child, Elizabeth (Lily) Wilson White, who married George Seton Veitch Wenley, son of James Adams Wenley, treasurer of the Bank of Scotland. George and Lily emigrated to Napier, New Zealand and most of the family is still there. Their second child, Alison, however, married her first cousin, Harold (a son of John Sharp) and lived in Scotland - at Balruddery - and were Henrietta's grandparents. Another son of James Adams Wenley was Robert Mark Wenley (1861-1929) who was a well-known philosopher and professor at the University of Michigan.
