This subseries contains material relating to speeches given by Platt at dinners and public events, such as openings and prizegivings, but does not include lectures (covered in PLA/5). Most items consist of a menu or a programme, with manuscript notes for Platt's speech, but some items comprise only notes or a menu, and others contain additional material relating to the event.
There are a number of papers relating to speeches and addresses throughout the Platt papers, in particular in the series of Lectures and Working Papers (PLA/5) and the Historical Files (PLA/12). There are many photographs of public engagements in the series of Photographic Material (PLA/11).
