Scope and Content

The 1841 census shows the King's Head as occupied by Edward Roberts aged 60, his son-in-law Hugh Williams and his daughter Jane. By 1851 Joseph Jones aged 31 of Llannefydd is listed as Publican and Stone Mason, along with his wife Jane [née Roberts, assumed widow of Hugh Williams] and son-in-law [presumably step-son] Edward R Williams, aged 5. Joseph and Jane seem to have both worked as publicans, as Jane's name appears in correspondence nearly as often as Joseph's. They went on to have sons of their own, who occur at various points in the personal records.

The inclusion of the drawings of the Conway Tubular Bridge stonework in this series is purely a guess that JJ's work as Stone Mason may account for their presence.
