Scope and Content

Author comments on McNair learning Latin. Heath-Stubbs attended a production of Henrik Ibsen’s play, Master builder at the Worcester Co-Op Hall. However, he did not enjoy the play and came away feeling depressed. Afterwards he talked to a female about the play whose opinions on "mind over matter" he found annoying. The author describes a dinner he had with John Horney, who was a preacher at Bembridge College [a boarding school on the Isle of White] when he and McNair were there. Heath-Stubbs describes him as a liberal Quaker, teetotaler and from a wealthy industrialist family.

Dated at: Worcester College.
