During the 1960s, the University considered major revisions to the 1903 charter. A committee was appointed by Council in 1963 to consider revisions. This issued an interim report in October 1965, which included a draft charter. This was revised and approved in April 1967; proposed general ordinances and regulations were issued in 1971 The new supplemental charter and statutes was finally issued in February 1973 along with new ordinances and regulations.
