A collection of Raffles's notes, transcripts from printed works and manuscript documents, original drawings and cuttings relating to places and families of Lancashire, probably compiled between 1818 and 1824. The contents largely concern Nonconformist churches and the locality of West Derby, but they also include interesting documentation on architecture, archaeology, genealogy and local history.
This volume probably stems from Raffles' research for a History of the Nonconformist Churches of Lancashire, which was never published. The JRUL also holds three volumes of Raffles' papers for this work, 1819-1821 (currently uncatalogued, see Accruals above).
