The Academic Boards were the main departmental committees at UMIST. Their membership included academic members of staff (and later student representatives), and they were responsible for a wide range of academic and administrative issues. the Boards reported to the UMIST Academic Board.
Originally known as the Board of Studies to 1963, and Departmental Academic Board of Studies to 1967.
