Scope and Content

A collection of small press poetry publications and copies of literary magazines Prospect, Cambridge Opinion and others.

Cambridge Opinion was a Cambridge University undergraduate magazine and EF edited a special edition, no. 14 (1959) entitled, 'The Writer Out of Society' which was based on her enthusiasm for Ezra Pound, Samuel Beckett and Allen Ginsberg. The magazine included work by avant-garde writers such as the American Beat poets Allen Ginsberg and Gregory Corso.

EF started Prospect not to publish her own poems but to introduce the work of US poets like Charles Olson, Paul Blackburn and others who were not yet known in the UK. EF eventually sold Prospect to writer Jeremy Prynne (b.1936).

The English Intelligencer magazine was started by a group of Cambridge poets who were known to EF.
