Scope and Content

A large volume on the leaves of which are fastened 61 documents of various kinds and origin but mainly relating to French ecclesiastical institutions. They include several bulls and papal documents (PHC/88, /93, /99 and /103). There are also single documents relating to Scotland (PHC/77), Spain (PHC/88) and Italy (PHC/105). The documents are arranged in approximate chronological order. They were originally numbered sequentially, 41-101, following on from PHC/28-67 above (1-40), and these former references are shown in round brackets below. When the Phillipps Charters were acquired by the John Rylands Library, each document was given a separate charter number: PHC/68-75, 75a, 76-94, 94a, 95-107, 107a, 108-125.

Former references: Phillipps no. 32289; Latin MS 200.
