Administrative / Biographical History

David Wylie Gibson was born in Springside, Ayrshire, Scotland, in 1904. Having been educated in Springside, he became a councillor of the city of Glasgow, Scotland, in 1934 as a member of the Independent Labour Party. In 1938 he was chairman of the Shettleston branch of the Independent Labour party and later became a Bailie of Glasgow.
