Custodial History
As a result of increasing class sizes at Lenzie Primary School on Kirkintilloch Road, a new school site was identified at Moss Road, Lenzie. The new school was due to be named Gallowhill Primary but parents called for ‘Lenzie’ to be incorporated into the name. Lenzie Moss Primary was officially opened on 22 February 1968. The majority of Lenzie Primary pupils transferred to the new school in Moss Road, while 280 pupils stayed at the Lenzie Primary site in Kirkintilloch Road. In late 2013 East Dunbartonshire Council decided to combine Lenzie Moss Primary and Lenzie Primary and create a new-build school on the Lenzie Moss Primary site. Following a poll of local families the name Lenzie Meadow Primary School was chosen for the new school. It opened to pupils in August 2016.
