Administrative / Biographical History

The South East Group was formed in 1949. It consisted of the members of the WIs at Coychurch, Dinas Powis, Llandough Rhoose and Sully who held a joint meeting twice a year. A new East Group without Coychurch, began in 1959, and in 1971 Rhoose was replaced in the Group by Culverhouse Cross WI. In the early 1990s Barry, Cadoxton and Barry Highlight WIs joined the group, and later Wenvoe, and the name was changed around this time to Bro Hafren.
