John Cameron worked as Education Officer, Makerere College, Uganda, 1947, thenin Tanganyika as Education Officer, Bigwa, Kidugala and Pasiainsi/ButimbaTeacher Training Centres, 1948-1953. He remained in Tanganyika as Education Officer and SeniorEducation Officer, Mpwapwa Teacher Training Centre, 1953-1957, SeniorExecutive Officer, Southern Highlands and Tanga, 1958-1960, Acting AssistantDirector of Education (African), 1960, Assistant Chief Education Officer,(non-African), 1961-1962, and Assistant Chief Education Officer (Administrationand General), 1963-1964.
