Administrative / Biographical History

The  Leith Brewery Company,  Leith, Scotland was founded in  1982  by a consortium of  CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale) members and well–known locals.  Kenny Gardner was the brewer. Under new management c 1985 , it was renamed the  Argyle Brewing Co Ltd . The company was dissolved on  16 November 1993 .

Custodial History

The collection was previously stored with the rest of the Scottish Brewing Archive at Heriot–Watt University. It moved to the University of Glasgow in 1991. Custody of the Scottish Brewing Archive was transferred to Glasgow University Archive Services in 2008.
