Opinion of Mr C Rous-Marten (accident investigator on behalf of the GWR) on the Loughor railway accident, 3 October 1904. Includes photographs of the aftermath of the accident. The accident involved the derailment of a saddle tank engine being used to pilot an express train up the Cockett Bank. The opinion recorded here is on whether a saddle tank engine is safe at the high speeds required to gain speed on the level section immediately before the incline. 1904
