Written circa 1935; published Jonathan Cape 1936; reprinted 1969. On yellow paper, with title page on green paper. Includes 32 pp. of an earlier version. The typescript has been written on two kinds of yellow paper, most of it ('first paper') a dull yellow 10 x 8 paper, probably used as backing papwe, and a few pages ('second paper') a lighter yellow, also 10 x 8, better quality bank paper. Neither has a watermark. Two typewriters have been used, elite and pica.
