Administrative / Biographical History

Mount Calvary Baptist Church was an English Baptist Church situated on Ysgol Street, Danygraig, Swansea. The congregation was formed in 1881, originally meeting in a house locally. The church was built on land leased from the Briton Ferry estate in 1884 [see D/D BF 1788] and named Mount Calvary. It was affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain. It was subsequently extended in 1905. After falling membership numbers and damage to the building, the chapel was closed and converted into flats in c. 2000.
