Jason Barnes Collection

Scope and Content

The Jason Barnes Collection comprises lighting plans and technical information relating to productions at The Strand Theatre, London between 1977 and 1994.

There are also ground plans and technical specifications for London and Regional theatres into which the National Theatre may have toured.

A number of the files on Regional venues have copies of accomodation lists attached and there is also corresepondence between venues and the National Theatre relating to productions toured into these theatres.

The collection also contains information relating to the excavation of the Rose Theatre, London and the possible refurbishment of the Warehouse Theatre, Croydon.

Administrative / Biographical History

Jason Barnes was Production Manager at the National Theatre's Cottesloe Theatre. He was also a trustee of The Theatres Trust from 2004-2010.

Acquisition Information

The files in BAR/1 were donated to Theatres Trust by Jason Barnes, most likely in the mid 2000s. The files in BAR/2 and BAR/3 were transferred to Theatres Trust from the National Theatre Archive in 2015.
