The group contains notes by F N Campbell-James, wife of the former Professor of Chemistry at the University of Wales Aberystwyth, T Campbell-James. These notes contain her research on the submerged forest on the coast at Borth and Ynyslas, Cardiganshire. After F N Campbell-James' death, Lily Newton, together with the botanist Sir Harry Godwin, produced a paper on the subject, based on these notes. Their work, and the resultant paper, are also included in the group.
