The correspondence relates to the British Museum (Natural History) and the specimens deposited there from the British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-1913 (leader Robert Falcon Scott). In his account of the expedition (The worst journey in the world) Cherry-Garrard recounts his visit to the museum with the emperor penguin eggs that he, Edward Adrian Wilson and Henry Robinson Bowers had collected during the winter journey to Cape Crozier.
