Miscellaneous records of Strick and Bellingham relating mainly to railways, 1882-1931, including speeches and minutes of evidence in the House of Lords and the House of Commons for various railway Bills relating to Glamorgan, 1882-1914, in particular the Rhondda and Swansea Bay Railway Bills, 1882-1914; petitions of the Rhondda and Swansea Bay Railway Company against various Bills, 1894; deposited plans and sections for the Brynaman and Neath Railway, 1902; Swansea County Borough Council minutes, 1902-1907. Administrative / Biographical History

The Rhondda and Swansea Bay Railway was proposed as a way of linking the Rhondda coalfields with the port of Swansea. It ran from Treherbert, along the Afan Valley, and across the River Neath to Swansea. It was first proposed in a Bill of 1882. The railway was extended following further Bills in 1891 and 1914.
