Administrative / Biographical History

Christopher Richard Hill was formerly a member of HM Foreign Service and Assistant Director of the Institute of Race Relations, London. He was a Lecturer in Politics at University College of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. He became a member of the Politics Department, University of York, in 1966 and was made the founding Director of the Centre for Southern African Studies in 1972.
