Glasgow University Mountaineering Club Journal

Scope and Content

Each magazine includes an editorial, notes on meets and places of interest, club notes, sketches, poems, personal contributions and a list of members and office bearers.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Glasgow University Mountaineering Club magazine was first produced on a "largely experimental" basis in 1952, by volunteers. Due to the success of the first issue, it was decided to produce the magazine annually and to have the second issue printed, rather than typed. By 1971 the title had changed to Glasgow University Mountaineering Club Journal. From at least 2003 the printing quality had improved, with colour photographs printed on the covers, and from 2005 colour photographs printed within the text .
