Established in 1994, the Board was chaired by the Dean of Management Studies and reported to the UMIST Academic Studies Committee. The Board had responsibility for undergraduate and some aspects of postgraduate degrees. It also supervised the academic aspects of the School's relationship with the Federal School of Business and Management (also established in 1994).
