Administrative / Biographical History
The Neath Independent was set up in March 1984 as a paid-for weekly paper focussing upon matters and events of local interest. The initial edition has been signed by three of the key journalists, including Geoffrey Nicholson. The editor was Dudley Stephens, the chief journalist Peter Browne, and Jane Downs was also involved with the project.
