Administrative / Biographical History

Glyncorrwg National School, Glyncorrwg, Glamorgan, opened in about 1867. It was run by the National Society and provided an Anglican education. By 1885 the one room, one teacher school was inadequate to cope with its 250 pupils. Glyncorrwg School Board was formed under the Education Act 1870 and it replaced the National School with a new school, opened in 1885.
