This is a collection of letters to David Wright from Nicholson dating from 1966 to 1986. The letters tell how Nicholson and Wright developed their friendship. What began as a literary exchange, involving many of the arguments of the era, soon developed into a strong friendship with their shared passion for poetry and the Lakeland landscape.

Scope and Content
Arrangement
The series of letters had previously been arranged in a chronological order, reflecting the manner in which they would have been collected by David Wright. However, the undated letters previously appeared as one item. These have now been separated and appear at the end of the letters collection.
