Administrative / Biographical History
Oystermouth is an ancient parish, which contained the villages of Mumbles, Newton, Norton, Blackpill and Mayals. The church is dedicated to All Saints. The area became increasingly built up during the later 19th century and the 20th century, and new parishes were formed out of Oystermouth parish - Newton was created in 1933 in the south west and Llwynderw was created in 1956 in the north, leaving the central and southern part as the modern parish of Oystermouth. The parish also includes Norton Mission.
