Marion S Stewart (nee Gracie) studied at The Glasgow School of Art from 1949-1954. She later took up a teaching post at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design.

The tapestry is made of heavy wool and thread. The design features four female figures in bright orange and pink coloured clothing on an abstract background of blues, purples and greens.
