Administrative / Biographical History
Swansea Labour Association was the local Labour Association for the Swansea area. It provided a focus for membership and for campaigning on the local and national political scene. In 1988 it was wound up and replaced by constituency labour parties corresponding to the three constituencies that cover the city, one of which is Swansea West Constituency Labour Party. Swansea Labour Association used to run and use as its headquarters Swansea and District Labour Hall and Institute, which occupied the ground floor of the Elysium Cinema on High Street, Swansea. It closed in 1998.
