Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Bethel was an English Congregational church situated at Sketty Green near Swansea. It began as an offshoot of Bethel Welsh Independent Church, Carnglas, Sketty, holding services in English. The chapel was built in 1884 and rebuilt following the widening of Sketty Park Road in 1970. It became a United Reformed church in 1972. In 2018, after holding joint services with Sketty Methodist Church since 2011 under the name Uniting Church, Bethel Chapel was sold, the congregation continuing to meet at Sketty Methodist Church.
