Scope and Content

In the collection, there is a series of minute books along with various correspondence and letters. There are also some insurance policies and trust deeds. There is also various financial information including financial statements.

Administrative / Biographical History

The West Hull Liberal Trust was founded in 1909 with the first headquarters in Jamerson Chambers, Jamerson Street, Hull. On 31st March 1941 the premises of the Trust (the Boulevard property) was damaged by enemy action. The Trust was set up with the intention of being a 'political trust' but later changed to a 'charitable trust'. It was renamed the Nunburnholme Trust after their founder (Charles Henry Baron Nunburnholme) who stated he wished to set up such a trust in his will. The Boulevard property belonging to the West Hull Liberal Trust was rented out to be used as a Police Boys' Club in 1943.
